Questioning the Credibility of Allies
George Bush in response to John Kerry's critical comments on Iyad Allawi's remarks yesterday:
"You can't lead this country if your ally in Iraq feels like you question his credibility."
Cheney also faulted Kerry, saying he had been disrespectful to the Iraqi leader.
Of course, Bush and Cheney would never disrespect, or question the credibility of an ally.
Oh, wait...
Addendum:
More Cheney (from the Washington Post):
"After Kerry criticized Allawi's speech to Congress, Vice President Cheney tore into the Democratic nominee, calling him 'destructive' to the effort in Iraq and the struggle against terrorism."
Dick Cheney is entitled to his opinion (no matter how unsubstantiated it may be) but you know what was really destructive to the struggle against terrorism?
Iraq.
