Maureen Dowd: Cheney Spits Toads

Maureen Dowd has a great column in the New York Times today addressing Dick Cheney's newest scare tactic: Vote us out, and you will vote the terrorists in. Or, as Dowd plainly puts it: "Message: You die." Cheney basically wants to make it clear that John Kerry could not protect us from the terrorists. But as Dowd points out, "President Bush didn't protect us from the real 9/11." Cheney's statement that "if we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again," was possibly the most outrageous statement made in this campaign thus far. It may even single handedly bump Zell Miller from the top of the "Insane Politicians" list. But did anyone really think that Cheney would put up with being number 2 for long?
